Features and Benefits:

These are a high specification feeder pillar, with an excellent level of resistance to vandalism. There is a range of sizes, both single door and double door, and are suitable for many applications including trunk road and motorway installations.

• 3mm steel, hot dip galvanised after manufacture to BSEN ISO1461

• Flanged door and body returns all round to provide structural rigidity.

• Doors sit inside a flanged frame, providing high resistance to leverage & vandalism.

• Hinged door on all sizes

• Lube-For-Life maintenance free Stainless steel and phosphor bronze hinges

• Stainless steel ¼ turn heavy duty door locks with security plugs supplied as standard

• A4 document pocket supplied as standard (except on 300 x 600 models)

• Plus Galvä root protection providing twice the thickness of galvanising protection for increased life, normally giving locally in excess of 100 microns.

• Door lock assemblies feature a universal body and insert arrangement, allowing retrofit lock changing

• Standard door lock options include Tri head, Lucy Type, and Recessed Pin Anti Vandal.

• Door hinges allow 180° door opening.

• No central door post allowing full access to internal working area.

• Hazard warning sign fitted to the front of the pillar door, conforming to Electricity at Work and Health & Safety Signs and Signals Regulations. Sign is also embedded into the door, improving resistance to vandalism.

• Earth fly lead directly from the pillar body to the pillar door to provide earth continuity and aid operator safety during maintenance. Also complying with Electricity at Work Regulations.

• Internal backboard preservative treated after cutting for long life & to prevent de-lamination

Special Options:

• Hasp and Staple option to allow padlock facility. This can be retro fitted after installation and is also supplied as a spares kit.

• Anti slam door stay option.

• Rag feet kit for mounting pillars in soft or rural locations (only applicable to single door pillars)

• Cable flap option in the bottom of the pillar door. This will allow cables to exit the front of the pillar when the door is closed.

• Plinth mounted version. Supplied without root for mounting directly to a concrete base.

• Special Labels such as pillar identification labels, or labels with emergency contact details.

• Painted finish. Standard paint spec is one coat polyurethane low VOC, low solvent, high gloss Duplex paint system as standard. Standard colours are Grey 18B25, Black 00E53 and green 14C39. Other BS or RAL colours may be available upon request.

• Optional painting to Highways Agency specifications such as G1, G2a, G2b

• Pre Wired facility to customers specifications. These can be single phase, three phase, or a combination of electrical items to meet your specification. Please refer to our catalogue sections on pre-wiring for more info.

• Special overall dimensions. It may be possible to manufacture a pillar to a customer specific height, width or depth. This will depend on your requirements, but please contact our office to discuss further.
